Time Study Intern

EaglePicher is in need of a Time Study Intern to join the Manufacturing Team!  Time study is a tried and tested method of work measurement for setting basic times and hence standard times for carrying out specified work.  The aim of time study is to establish a time for a qualified worker to perform specified work under stated conditions and at a defined rate of working.


As a Time Study Intern, you will observe work and specific jobs, record what is done, and measure the amount of time utilized for the job while simultaneously assessing the pace of the work.  In this position, you will receive hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as relevant 5S training.  In addition, you can expect to develop your interpersonal skills with members of a skilled Engineering team. 


Your core responsibilities will be to:

·         Conduct time studies;

·         Perform line balances;

·         Create vision boards for ongoing support of operational efficiency improvements;

·         Conduct operator interviews about processes on the floor;

·         Collate data daily;

·         Complete basic administrative work;

·         Participate in 5S Kaizen events.


To succeed in this position, you must:

·         Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident;

·         Be in the process of completing a Bachelor’s degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline, or have completed 1 to 3 years of math, physics, or engineering related classes;

·         Possess strong technical writing ability and/or drafting skill.
