ABOUT THE POSITION

This Robot Programmer position will work within our Automated Production Systems team to plan, simulate and program the robotic systems within the process modules needed to support automated stations and production lines.

Responsibilities

Ongoing Job Responsibilities:

  • Program robotic systems with an emphasis on six-axis robotic arms
  • Work within Automated Production Systems team to plan new systems utilizing robotics
  • Work within Robotic Simulation software to simulate new implementations
  • Support validation efforts of new implementations
  • Work with Automated Production Systems team to identify and detail automation opportunities
  • Work with technical writers to generate documentation when necessary
  • Visit vendors and attend tradeshows and training as needed
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturing and Design for Automation discussions as needed
  • Work with Controls Engineering teams to integrate machines into larger systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Hiring Requirements:

  • Experience programming six-axis robotic arms

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills, working with internal and external resources at all levels

  • High energy, self-motivated, and detail-oriented; team work spirit is essential

  • Willingness to work projects at multiple sites within a 30 mile radius

  • Willingness to travel to venders and other EP sites as needed.

Hiring Preferences:

  • Experience with ABB Robotic
  • 5 years of experience in process automation or related role, including project management
  • Experience leading high value capital projects to drive process improvement and meet operational goals
  • Experience specifying, selecting, implementing, and validating equipment
  • Experience working with and managing external vendors, OEM’s, etc.
  • Experience with automation components/controls, PLC’s / HMI’s, robotics, sensors and vision inspection
  • Machine design experience
