ABOUT THE POSITION
As an Automation Controls Technician, you will join the Maintenance team, and support the programming and troubleshooting of all on-site equipment, including PLC-driven automated equipment. You will also work with the rest of the maintenance team on establishing new maintenance procedures, and function as a team leader in problem solving and manufacturing process improvement.
Your core responsibilities will be to:
· Program and troubleshoot all equipment including PLC driven automation;
· Perform equipment failure analysis and preventive maintenance;
· Provide assistance to Engineering as needed;
· Repair and maintain physical structures using hand and power tools;
· Repair, install and maintain electrical systems and fixtures;
· Co-lead projects to improve cost, quality, delivery and safety of manufacturing processes;
· Lead in technical efforts of writing new process procedures;
· Aid in determination of maintenance, calibration and spare parts requirements for new equipment;
· Develop and implement process validation and testing;
· Design, assemble, troubleshoot and provide documentation to support tooling and fixtures.
To succeed in this position, you must:
· Be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident;
· Have a high hchool diploma or GED equivalent, with additional technical/vocational training;
· Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in controls maintenance;
· Display knowledge of PLC programming and robotics;
· Possess strong mechanical and electrical skills;
· Have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
· Be able to work flexible shifts when required.
In addition to meeting the basic requirements, the most successful candidates will also have:
· A two-year technical degree;
· A background in automation with a working knowledge of Allen Bradley systems;
· Experience with Tool & Die, and welding applications;
· Experience with Lean and Six Sigma process improvement methods;
· Experience with GMP, ISO and AS-9100 quality system methods.
